Vale Les Schulz

It is with great sadness that Bowls SA wish to advise Members of the passing of former South Australian representative and stalwart of the Angaston Bowling Club; Les Schulz.

Bowls SA records show that Les represented the state on 62 occasions. He also won the State Champion of Champion singles in 1982-83, Adelaide Masters Singles in 1979 and the Country Carnival Singles in 1979.

In addition to his prowess at State Level, Les had an astonishing club record where he was Angaston Bowling Club singles winner 22 times between 1975 & 2008, including what must be a near record – 17 years in a row. He was the Barossa & Light Association Singles winner 6 times and also the Lower North (Regional) Singles winner 6 times

The Les Schulz Memorial Day Open 4’s bowls tournament will be held at Angaston Bowling Club on the 28^th March. Please contact the club if you are interested in being involved in this tournament.

Thoughts are with Les’ family, friends, members of the Angaston Bowling Club as well as the Barossa & Light Association.
