2018 State Primary School Championships – Results
A fantastic sunny day greeted 31 Primary School students for the 2018 State Primary School Championships held at Grange Bowling Club. All students participated in the singles event in the morning followed by an open triples event in the afternoon. The sportsmanship and standard of Bowls was first class, with the smiles on all participants faces creating a great atmosphere for the day.
Upon completion of sectional play the singles and triples finals results were as follows:
Open Triples:
Bronze Medal: Hugh Crawford, Declan Warner & Indi Vass
Silver Medal: Khao Wright, Isaac How & Rylan Bell
Gold Medal: Evie Exton & Tara Hurst
Open Singles:
Quarter finalists: Ryan O’Shaughnessy, Connon Shepherd, Tyson Black & Dylan Jamison
Semi Finalists: Ryan Hill
Bronze Medal: Cameron Hill (Monash Primary)
Silver Medal: Charlie Hicks (North Haven Primary)
Gold Medal: Cooper Hocking (Ardtournish)
A big thank you to all volunteers who assisted with the running of the day including those from the Grange Bowling Club for their wonderful hospitality. Coaching & Junior Committee member Rick Whitehead should also personally thanked for his organisation of the day. Well done to all the participants and we look forward to a successful 2019 Primary School Championships.

31 Primary school students will participate in the day in a marked increase from last years entries. It promises to be a great opportunity to promote junior bowls across South Australia forming part of PE Week and Bowls SA’s GetBowledOver launch week.
Bowls SA is pleased to announce the date and venue for the 2018 State Primary School championships which will be held on Friday November 16, 2018 (week 5, term 4) at the Grange Bowling Club.
Entries are open to any Primary school student with some Lawn Bowls experience. (can be basic through school or come ‘n’ try days). This a great opportunity for any clubs conducting school sessions or with school aged students to progress their participating students onto a structured competition against other schools and students.
The event is also a great opportunity for schools to get students outdoors enjoying a low cost and easy to learn sport for all students. Students can participate in either the Open Singles or Open Triples events and will play for the Gold, Silver and bronze medals in each discipline. Equipment hire is also available on the day for those that require it at no cost.
The day is all about participation in our great sport and aims to promote an active, healthy lifestyle for students encouraging them to get outside and play an enjoyable, safe, non contact sport.
